A Huntsville man now finds himself behind bars after multiple impaired driving convictions.
Appearing in a Bracebridge courtroom, Zachary Passmore, 33, pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.
Court heard that on March 16, 2022, at roughly 1 am OPP on patrol in Algoma came across a car in the ditch facing the wrong direction. They found Passmore in the driver’s seat and when officers asked him where he was headed he replied, “Canada,” court heard. He also admitted to the officers he was drunk and ultimately blew a reading of 270 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, more than triple the limit.
Court heard Passmore has a prior impaired driving conviction. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a two-year driving ban.
