Impaired driver nabbed leaving Bracebridge grocery store

Keen-eyed shoppers put the brakes on an impaired driver in Bracebridge, a court heard last week.

On Tuesday, Brent Forrester, 36,  was convicted and sentenced to jail for his second impaired driving conviction.

According to the OPP, on Oct. 24, 2021, a concerned member of the public called the OPP to report a possible impaired driver leaving a grocery store in Bracebridge. At 1:36 p.m., police were able to conduct a traffic stop on Ecclestone Dr in Bracebridge.

Court heard that police found a vodka bottle inside the truck, and the driver, Forrester, only had a G1 license.

Court heard that Forrester has a previous impaired conviction. A joint position was put forward, and accepted by the judge, for 30 days in jail to be served on weekends.
