Impaired driver “totals” vehicle, fractures neck

An impaired driver in Georgian Bay Township nearly lost it all, a Bracebridge court heard recently.

Noah Courriere, 29, of Mactier, pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.

Court heard that on Nov. 1, 2024, Bracebridge OPP were called to a single-vehicle collision on 12 Mile Bay Road in Georgian Bay Township. 

When police arrived, they found an SUV flipped upside down and “totalled”. EMS arrived, and the driver, Courriere, was taken to the hospital with a fractured neck.

Court heard he admitted to the police that he had been drinking alcohol and driving over the speed limit.

He ultimately blew a reading of 120 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.

Courriere was sentenced to a $1,500 fine and a one-year driving ban.
