One of three individuals charged with indignity to human remains in Huntsville will remain in custody for the time being.
Last week in Bracebridge court, Richard Pitt, 57, who is currently in custody, had his matter put over to May 11.
On Sunday, November 21, 2021, a member of the public called the OPP to report human remains located on a property near Gryffin Lodge Road in Huntsville.
The deceased was identified as Mark Sweet, 58 years of age, from Perry Township, Ontario.
Three people were charged in relation to the investigation.
In addition to Pitt, Lana MacDonald, 53, of Huntsville, and Matthew Sturgess, 37 of Huntsville, both face charges of indignity to human remains and accessory after the fact.
Both were released on bail last year and are scheduled to appear this week in court for a case management update.
The case remains under a publication ban.
