Lois McKenzie-Brown

Lois McKenzie-Brown, born to Alan and Irma Godfrey on September 4, 1940, passed peacefully on May 15, 2026. Lois will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith, warmth, and the love she showed to those around her.

Beloved wife of the late Bob McKenzie and Michael Brown, Lois was a devoted mother to Kevin McKenzie (Elizabeth), Karen Jenney (Gregory), and Kathryn Lizotte (Cory). She was also a loving step-mother to Jennifer Taylor (Craig), Adrienne Brown, the late Stephanie Brown, Christopher Brown, and Eva Brown.

Lois was a proud and cherished grandmother to Keaghan, Kearnan, Kailer, Grace, Jeren, Owen, Matthew, Amanda, Julia, Lauren, Bella, Christopher, Chloe, and Jackson. She was a dear sister to Eileen Godfrey and Betty Mensinga (Sid), and a treasured “Auntie Lois” to Christine, Sarah, and Laura. She was also a loving great-aunt to Jack, Iris, Mathilda, Elliot, Callan, and Rowan.

Lois had a strong faith in Christ and deeply cherished her relationships with her church families and many dear and lifelong friends. Her compassion, encouragement, and kind spirit touched countless lives over her years as a public health nurse, church librarian, and minister’s wife.

Family and friends are invited to visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Calvary Gravenhurst. Light refreshments and a time of fellowship and celebration of Lois’ life will follow the service.

In keeping with Lois’ wishes, guests are encouraged to wear bright colours in celebration of her life and joyful spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Gravenhurst- https://www.calvarygravenhurst.com/give. The service will be live streamed for those out of province and country. Check back here for the Zoom meeting link later this week.
