MAHC manikins donated to rec department

The Town of Bracebridge recently received a donation of retired simulation manikins from the Muskoka Algonquin Health Care Team.

The South Muskoka Memorial and Huntsville District Memorial Hospitals use simulation manikins to train hospital staff in CPR, mock codes and mock body scenarios. With age and continued use, the manikin’s electronic parts have deteriorated and can no longer be used for these training purposes.

The Recreation Department will use the manikins when training staff in emergency response scenarios and
lifesaving skills.

“The manikins have served their purpose for training at a hospital level,” says Cathy Janke, Aquatics and Fitness Supervisor. “They will now be part of the recreation department’s ongoing emergency response training.”
