A Muskoka Lakes driver was under the influence of multiple drugs when he crashed into a ditch, a Bracebridge court heard recently.
Jeffery Gardner-Wilder pled guilty to driving while impaired driving by drugs and failing to attend court.
Court heard that on June 5, 2021, at roughly 6 am Bracebridge OPP were called to a collision on Hamill’s Point Road in Muskoka Lakes Township. Paramedics at the scene found a vehicle in the ditch with Gardner-Wilder still seated in the driver’s seat. Police had reason to believe Gardner-Wilder was impaired and a blood test turned up methadone, oxycodone and other drugs
Cour heard Gardner-Wilder had a previous conviction for dangerous driving.
He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a 12-month driving ban.
