Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have located a person deceased in Gravenhurst, after they were reported missing earlier today.
On July 1, 2022, just after 10:00 a.m., a 67-year-old male was reported missing in Gravenhurst. The male was believed to have last been seen on Wednesday afternoon. A search was commenced with assistance from members of the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit. Around noon, the male was located deceased in the Kahshe River. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) assisted at the scene.
The death is believed to be non-suspicious and no foul play is suspected. A post mortem is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The identity will be withheld pending family notification.
