The Town of Bracebridge has posted more swim advisories for area beaches.
The Town announced that based on beach water samples collected by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) on Thursday, July 8, 2021, it has been recommended by the SMDHU that Bowyer’s Beach (1019 Bowyer’s Beach Road) and Kirby’s Beach (1010 Kirby’s Beach Road) be posted with swim advisory signs.
Water quality can change from day to day or even hour to hour depending on the weather and other conditions. Bacteria levels can increase in recreational beach water due to heavy rainfall, cloudy water, a large number of swimmers, a large number of birds, shallow water, wet sand, winds and high waves.
