Muskoka Arts & Crafts hosts spring show May 9 to May 25

Muskoka Arts & Crafts (MA&C) will celebrate the creativity and excellence of its members at the 48th annual Spring Members’ Show, taking place at the Manitoba Street gallery in Bracebridge, Ontario.

The public is invited to view the exhibited works during regular gallery hours from May 9 to May 25, 2025, and can also vote for the “Best in Show.” A Members-only Gala will occur on May 15 from 5 PM to 7 PM at “MA&C on Main,” where juried awards sponsored by community members will be presented.

MA&C Executive Director Nichole Kitchen remarked that the Spring Members’ Show is a highly anticipated event showcasing the rich arts and crafts talent in Muskoka. “While our popular Summer Show features local makers and artists from across the province, the Spring Members’ Show offers our participating members a chance to shine,” she noted. “It also provides an opportunity for the community to connect with these talented individuals and learn more about their work.”

This year, the MA&C Board of Directors will introduce a new sponsorship initiative, inviting local art enthusiasts and businesses to support the organization and its commitment to championing over 400 member makers. The “Creative Sponsorship Program” allows interested parties to develop innovative partnerships supporting MA&C’s two annual shows, ongoing exhibits, events, regular programming, workshops, and the operations and staffing at MA&C on Main and the Chapel Gallery.

Board Chair Jenn Walters mentioned that the launch of the MA&C on Main gallery in 2024 was a significant success, attracting over 12,000 walk-in visitors during its first year. “Evidently, arts and crafts – particularly those created by our members – resonate strongly with both tourists and locals. Our vision is to ensure this space, our annual shows, member programs, and exhibits thrive for years to come,” she said. “We hope that both private and public supporters recognize the value of what we are building and choose to invest in it, particularly for its positive community impact.”

Walters also shared that the first major donation since the introduction of the Creative Sponsorship Program will be announced during the members’ gala on May 15.

The 48th annual Spring Members’ Show will be held at 63 Manitoba Street in Bracebridge, Ontario, beginning May 9, 2025.
