A 20-year-old Huntsville man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to uttering death threats in a Bracebridge courtroom.
Court heard that on Oct. 26, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police received a call from Kentucky State Police regarding threats being made through telecommunications.
Thomas White, 20, of Huntsville and the victim had reportedly been friends online, however the relationship had deteriorated.
The court heard White threatened to hire a contract killer to murder the man and his wife. The threats were sent through text messages and included photos of a man White claimed he could hire to carry out the killings.
White pleaded guilty to threatening death and was handed a suspended sentence with 18 months probation.
