From Muskoka Snowtrails:
Lots of trees down on our system, but have managed to pack to the C114/C101D intersection to Bala /Cranberry Marsh and out to Glen Orchard. Non of the swamps safe for the groomer to pass out to Wahta or 9 Mile, but we have established a good firm base for what we have done so far.
This is the earliest we have ever been out packing with the Trooper. This cold is going to allow things to freeze up nice, especially the water holes in the bush that were broken open today. We could use some volunteers to assist with brushing. All the big trees that were down have been removed on the sections the groomer has made it to. Mainly small branches and overhangs.
We are still a ways away from any map updates, but this should set us up to get some trails open earlier than other years. As always, refer to the ITG for trail status.
