In celebration of National Seniors Day on Oct. 1, the District of Muskoka’s WISE Mobile Active Living Centre is launching new fall programs, creating more opportunities for older adults in Muskoka to connect, learn and engage in meaningful ways.
Two new initiatives are being introduced this season:
- WISE Without Walls – a free, weekly telephone-based program that explores a variety of exciting topics. It is designed for new participants who cannot attend in-person programming and existing members looking for more ways to get involved – from the comfort of your own home! To learn more about this free program and to register, visit our webpage: WISE Without Walls.
- Culture and Cuisine Project – Funded through a provincial grant, the program offers participants an opportunity to learn about cultural diversity while exploring different cuisines from local businesses. To find a session near you and to register, visit our website: Culture and Cuisine Project.
“These programs are about making it easier for older adults to stay active and feel part of their community,” said Michelle Russell, Manager of Strategies and Initiatives who oversees Seniors Programs. “Whether you join us by phone, in person, or at a special event, there’s something for everyone this fall.”
