Neil Sternberg’s exhibit of Personal Nostalgia Paintings is now available to the public at the new Muskoka Arts and Crafts (MAC) on Main gallery.
The exhibit runs until April 7 at the new art space at 63 Manitoba Street in Bracebridge
“As a painter, my main focus and inspiration is rooted in the environment in which I live—the rural landscapes and the people who
inhabit them,” says Sternberg. “In my paintings I record the ephemeral, transitory nature of my surroundings as well as relating the landscape to a
personal nostalgia. I am inspired by timeless subject matter that omits any signs of current trends or artifice.”
Sternberg often likes to combine different images and ideas using local landscapes as a kind of staging,” he says.
“Themes such as tension, decay and unease often feature in my work,” he says.
