The Township of Muskoka Lakes is welcoming the expansion of local health care services with the opening of a new physician-led medical practice at the Port Carling Community Health Hub.
An official welcome event celebrating the opening of Dr. Brenda Martin Medicine Professional Corporation will take place Friday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2:45 p.m., at the Community Health Hub located at 147 Medora Street in Port Carling. The indoor event is open to members of the community and media and will include brief remarks from Dr. Brenda Martin and Mayor Peter Kelley, followed by a tour of the facility.
The establishment of the new practice follows Township Council’s approval of a lease agreement for a medical clinic within the health hub, reflecting council’s commitment to supporting health care infrastructure in the community.
Dr. Brenda Martin Medicine Professional Corporation is a full-service primary care practice offering OHIP-covered medical services. Individuals with a valid Ontario health card are eligible to book appointments by phone during regular office hours.
The clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 705-765-3030.
The Port Carling Community Health Hub serves as a centralized location for a range of health care services in Muskoka Lakes. In addition to Dr. Martin’s new practice, the building is also home to Port Carling Dental and the Cottage Country Family Health Team, offering residents access to multiple services under one roof.
More information about health care services available at the Port Carling Community Health Hub can be found on the Township of Muskoka Lakes website.
