Our Lady Peace rock Honey Harbour

Renowned Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace recently paid a visit to Honey Harbour and you can check it out October 2 at the second annual Honey Bee Festival.

The Honey Bee Festival organizers recently announced that Canadian rock band Our Lady Peace has recorded live in Honey Harbour and the acoustic concert will be shown virtually October 2, 2021, as residents celebrate at their own watch parties. Ticket holders can tune in from the comfort of their own home to catch the Juno Award winning entertainers as they do an intimate acoustic performance.

Our Lady Peace, consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, Jason Pierce, and Steve Mazur, are one of Canada’s most successful bands. They have toured the world and sold over 5 million albums, won four JUNO Awards and ten Much Music Video Awards.

In 2020, Our Lady Peace and their fans celebrated the 20th anniversary of their critically acclaimed “Spiritual Machines” which arguably is one of the most influential Canadian Alt-Rock albums of the 2000s as it firmly re-established OLP as the dominant force in modern rock.

2021 continues the celebration of “Spiritual Machines” with the release of “Spiritual Machines 2” produced by Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio) and featuring once again audio clips from Ray Kurzweil (Futurist/Author). A return to form both musically and lyrically as OLP embraces their early guitar-driven, rhythmic roots, and cryptic lyrics.

Their latest single “Stop Making Stupid People Famous” featuring Pussy Riot is now available on all streaming platforms.

“Watching Our Lady Peace and the Cummins Media/Stature Films team produce this virtual event was fascinating,” says Mayor Peter Koetsier. “They are incredibly talented and inspiring. We know our residents, friends and family can tune in wherever, and with whomever they want to safely to see this production. Join us as we toured Apiaries with OLP, celebrate our environment on the waterways and learned about this UNESCO designated Biosphere. This production will be an excellent learning opportunity for all. Join us so we can be together but apart as we celebrate the Honey Bee Festival 2021 and of course the talented Our Lady Peace.”

Proceeds collected from ticket sales and VIP curated boxes will go directly to the Georgian Bay Biosphere, to assist in their efforts to continue to keep Georgian Bay naturally beautiful through education and outreach, with particular focus on the Honey Bee, and pollinators throughout the region.
