Police provide update on Hwy 11 fuel truck fire

On December 2, 2022 at 3:52 a.m. Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with Gravenhurst Fire Department and Muskoka EMS were dispatched to a tractor trailer hauling diesel that was possibly on fire on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst near Sparrow Lake Route D. Officers attended and closed all lanes of Highway 11 North and South while the level of risk was assessed. Fortunately, no one was injured and the fire was not related to the fuel, a second vehicle was ordered to transfer the fuel. Highway 11 South was re-opened shortly after 5:00 a.m.

One lane of Highway 11 North remains closed until the transfer is complete and the disabled vehicle is removed.
