Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after members of the public intervened.
On October 21, 2023 at 2:45 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received a call for service after employees of a local licensed establishment in Gravenhurst became concerned about a drivers ability to safely operate their vehicle. Police attended the location and after an investigation, arrested and charged 32-year-old Tyler MCKAY of North Bay, ON with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on November 14, 2023 to answer to his charges.
Police credit the quick actions of employees as well as participation and information from other patrons of the establishment with making area roads safer.
