The Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre invites the public to celebrate the launch of the RMS Segwun Storyboard Project with a special Storyboard Unveiling Event on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Muskoka Discovery Centre.
This project highlights the rich heritage of the RMS Segwun, Muskoka’s iconic historic steamship, and the broader story of the region’s lakeside tourism, cottaging, and local travel. The storyboards, will be installed around the exterior of the Muskoka Steamships’ office, guide visitors through a chronological journey of Segwun and Muskoka steamship history, offering an engaging visual experience that brings the past vividly to life.
The unveiling will be celebrated with appetizers, a custom Segwun cake and cupcakes, and live music by the Trillium Dixie Trio. Bruce Kruger, acting as town crier, will officially announce the project. Adding to the atmosphere, the Barb Shakell family in heritage costume will help transport attendees back to the golden age of Muskoka steamship
