Rock the Pickle uses star power to fight skin cancer

Rock the Pickle, the popular celebrity-driven pickleball tournament and fundraiser, is set for Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Port Carling Community Centre. In its second year, the event blends sport, entertainment, and philanthropy, raising critical support for Melanoma Canada’s skin cancerprevention initiatives.

The event begins at 8:30 AM, with celebrity pickleball matches and breakfast. Tournament game play begins at 10:30 AM (duos and quads), where teams play a minimum of 3 round-robin matches on multiple stunning cottage properties across Lake Rosseau and Lake Joe. The day concludes with an evening celebration featuring dinner, cocktails, an awards ceremony and live entertainment at the “Pickle Ball.”

“Partnering with Melanoma Canada allows us to harness community spirit and sport for a meaningful cause,” said Joel Hock, Event Producer and CEO of Solutions With Impact. “Last year’s success motivates us to raise even more awareness and funds this August.”

Noteworthy celebrity participants include actor Kim Coates, James Duthie (TSN), professional golfer Rory Sabbatini and Lindsay Hamilton (TSN), lending star power to heighten public engagement and fundraising impact.

Net proceeds support Melanoma Canada, including its sun safety outreach, its Mole Mobile program, and patient support services and education.

Registration is open now at rockthepickle.com. Teams are encouraged to aim for
fundraising minimums of $2,500 (duos) and $4,000 (quads) via the DonorDrive platform.
