Ronald Allen Wrightman, of Bracebridge, Ontario, peacefully passed away on November 22, 2024 in his 86th year. Ronnie passed away at Andy’s House with family by his side after a long battle with kidney disease.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Katharine Rosemary Wrightman. He is also survived by his two sons and daughter, Robert (Marilyn), Steve (Trudy), and Lorie-Jean (Ian).
Ronnie found great joy with his grandchildren Amanda (Benjamin), Kyle (Amanda), Sarah (Phil), David (Natasha), Mark (Hannah), Rebekah, Alex (Antonia), Chris, and Rosalind (John). Ronnie and Kathy were always thrilled to see their 12 great-grandchildren.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Gary Wrightman and is survived by his two loving sisters Peggy Walker (Brad deceased) and Luann Wrightman (Kevin Forth).
Ronnie will be remembered as an authentic, honourable gentleman with a memorable personality and a contagious laugh. He was a 32nd-degree Mason for over 50 years, living his life honouring the Masonic Principles.
He had a unique ability to dream in 3D. It gave him the foresight to mechanically engineer equipment for manufacturing and building log homes. It took a year of dreaming to design a system for the dovetail corner for log homes. With over 27 patents, he invented the world’s first and only air-tight log home system, True North Log Homes. His legacy is carried on by the third generation. Ronnie was a great inventor and will be dearly remembered by those he encountered throughout his life.
In retirement, Ronnie and Kathy spent their time on beautiful Whale Cay in the Bahamas, sharing it with family and friends and building beautiful memories. Between planes, boats and antique cars, Ronnie said he had lived a great life, sharing it with his family, and especially with his little flower, Kathy.
Visitation will be held from 10am – 1pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 2pm, on the 30th of November at Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street Bracebridge, Ontario P1L 2B6.
In lieu of Flowers, the family would appreciate a donation on behalf of Ronnie to Andy’s House (Hospice Muskoka), 16 West Street Port Carling, Ontario P0B 1J0.
