It was a big weekend for the Muskoka Royals U14 team, who participated in a one-day tournament in Pickering.
Coach Brea was insanely impressed with their growth over the day, noting that people who’d seen them play a week ago wouldn’t recognize them because they’ve developed so much, so fast! They won their first game decisively with an 8-2 score against Paris. They lost the next two games, 5-0 Etobicoke and 6-5 Paris, but that last game was a nail-biter that came down to the wire!
The U10 team also had a solid Sunday of play when they faced off against Markham on home ice. It was great to see so many people come watch our team, who were challenged by Coach Luke to try new positions and lots of passing, knowing that their competition is a team that is still in development. The Royals walked away with a 7-0 finish, earning Goalie Gabe a shut-out and the Royal of the Day title.
