Single-vehicle collision leads to imapired driving charges

Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving.

On October 26, 2024, at approximately 11:25 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Boundary Road, Perry Township.

Through investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to a nearby detachment for further testing.

Isaac FITZ, 21 years of age of North Bay was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Careless driving

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge on November 14, 2024.

The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
