A Huntsville man won’t be driving any time soon after he pleaded to having care and control of a vehicle with multiple drugs in his system.
Appearing In Bracebridge court last week, Edward Niemeyer, 61, pleaded guilty to impaired driving.
Court heard that on Jan. 18, 2022 the Huntsville OPP were investigating a parked car that was idling on Minerva Street. The police found a man in the driver’s seat asleep, but after the driver was roused the officer noticed signs of impairment, court heard.
The driver, Niemeyer, agreed to a blood test, which ultimately turned up cocaine, THC and several other drugs.
He was sentenced to a $2,000 and a one-year driving ban.
