Theatre Muskoka and The Rotary Club of Bracebridge are excited to bring the beloved classic musical “The Wizard of Oz” to the community.
Directed by Christine Robitaille, this exciting partnership promises a dazzling production that showcases the talents of local performers and crew, the community support of Rotary, and the production resources of Theatre Muskoka.
The Wizard of Oz is one of the most cherished musicals of all time, following the journey of young Dorothy Gale as she’s swept away to the magical land of Oz. Alongside her newfound friends—the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion—Dorothy travels the Yellow Brick Road in search of home, bravery, and belonging. The production explores timeless themes of friendship, self-discovery, and the enduring truth that “there’s no place like home.”
“We are delighted to bring The Wizard of Oz to life in Bracebridge,” said Michelle Emson, Executive Director of Theatre Muskoka. “This story’s enduring themes of courage, friendship, inclusivity, and the power of home remain as inspiring today as when the show first premiered. It will be a joy for audiences of all ages.”
Theatre Muskoka, a cornerstone of the arts in the region, contributes its artistic leadership and dedication to community engagement, elevating the production both onstage and off.

Rotarian Neil Hutchinson shares the club’s enthusiasm for this special production. “The Rotary Club of Bracebridge is proud to partner with Theatre Muskoka for our 48th Annual Community Musical, The Wizard of Oz! This timeless show unites performers, crew, volunteers, and audiences as Dorothy and her companions journey down the Yellow Brick Road. We invite you to join us in February to experience the magic onstage. Together, we ‘Unite for Good.’”
The musical will feature a talented cast of local performers of all ages, rehearsing under the direction of Christine Robataille, with beloved songs such as Over the Rainbow, We’re Off to See the Wizard, and If I Only Had a Brain, plus a few more songs that will be new to audiences unfamiliar with the stage production.
“As a director who has worked on many children’s musicals here in Muskoka, I couldn’t be more excited to bring ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to life for our community,” said Director Christine Robitaille. “With the recent release of ‘Wicked: For Good’, the world of Oz is captivating a whole new generation, and this gives us the perfect moment to revisit the timeless story that started it all. I can’t wait for audiences of all ages to share in the adventure together.”
The show opens with a Red Carpet Extravaganza on Feb 19. Performances will run through February 28, 2026 at the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre, Bracebridge.
