TLDSB approves balanced budget for 2025-2026 school year

At a Special Public Meeting on June 24, the Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) trustees approved a budget for the 2025-2026 school year, totaling just over $279 million.

The budget aims to allocate resources across various areas, including programs, staffing, technology, and support systems. The goal is to improve student learning outcomes and support well-being.

Director of Education Wes Hahn stated, “This budget aligns with the TLDSB Strategic Plan goals. With the available resources, TLDSB can continue to provide learning experiences through the tools and educational environments that promote equity, inclusion, and belonging.”

Superintendent of Business Services, Nicole Britton, noted the importance of a balanced budget, saying, “It prioritizes access to education, addressing the needs of all learners in our communities. Our commitment supports the Board’s goal of creating safe, inclusive spaces where every student feels valued and supported.”

During the meeting, trustees reviewed the funding breakdown from the Ministry of Education within the Core Education Funds, covering areas such as classroom staffing, learning resources, special education, school facilities, student transportation, and administration.

The complete 2025-2026 Budget is available on the Public Sector Reports page of the Board’s website for those interested.
