Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has Highway 11 North, just north of North Kahshe Lake Road, in Gravenhurst closed for a collision investigation.
On January 21, 2025 at 7:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 11 North near Luigi Road in Gravenhurst. Shortly after their arrival, and the arrival of a tow-truck, a third vehicle became involved as a transport truck struck one of the police vehicles.
The officers were not in the police vehicle at the time and were not injured, however the tow truck operator was transported to hospital with unconfirmed injuries. The occupants of the vehicles involved in the original collision were not injured.
Highway 11 North will be closed in that area for the next few hours and as there is no reasonably accessible detour for tractor trailers, motorists are asked to avoid the area.
