The popular Henry Road Trail in Bracebridge could be in line for some serious upgrades.

During the most recent Bracebridge general committee meeting, councillors agreed to launch a study of the development of a trailhead in the parking area on Henry Road.

Councillor Andrew Struthers brought the motion forward for discussion.

He explained that given the heavy usage of the trail via Henry Road, it was worth looking into.

Struthers said there have been parking issues at the site in the past with cars sometimes stretching out as far as Beaumont Drive.

The committee supported his motion and also agreed to put the matter up on the Engage Bracebridge webpage for public input.

Results will be returned to the general committee, and they’ll make a decision at that point whether to proceed with a trailhead.
