U13 Bears Crowned International Silver Stick Champions

The South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association U13 Bears capped off a remarkable weekend by capturing the International Silver Stick Finals championship in Pelham.

The invitational international tournament featured eight elite teams, including four from Ontario and four from the United States, bringing together top competition from both sides of the border.

The Bears earned their spot in Pelham by first winning the area Regional Silver Stick Tournament, where they went undefeated. That momentum carried straight through to the finals.

At the Pelham Finals, the Bears were dominant from start to finish, going undefeated in round-robin play before earning a semifinal victory and delivering a statement performance in the championship game. In the final, the Bears controlled the pace and shut down the opposition, skating to an impressive 4–0 shutout win to claim the title.

The championship run included six straight victories without a loss, with the Bears scoring 20 goals while allowing just six against and recording two shutouts along the way. The performance showcased outstanding teamwork, strong defensive play, and clutch scoring throughout the tournament.
