Vehicle in the Ditch Ends with Impaired Conviction

A 19-year-old has been fined and banned from driving after pleading guilty to an impaired driving offence in Bracebridge court.

Cameron Blair, 19, entered a guilty plea to operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.

Court heard that on Sept. 20, 2025, at approximately 3:33 a.m., police were called to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Falcon Road in the Town of Huntsville.

Officers attended the scene and detected an odour of alcohol on the driver. A roadside alcohol screening test was conducted, which registered 167 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood — more than double the legal limit.

The court also heard Blair was a suspended driver at the time of the incident.

He was fined $2,000 and handed a one-year driving prohibition.
