Wayback Wednesday: Hwy 11 near Bracebridge, 1950

This photo was posted by Dale Tingey in Muskoka History and Genealogy.

He indicates this photo is of HWYwy 11 circa Sept. 8 1950 between Gravenhurst and Bracebridge, according to the MTO cited source.

Another reader points out:

“Highway 118 didn’t come into existence until 1955 and Highway 11 north of Gravenhurst was where Winhara Rd. is now. The highway crossed the Muskoka River at South Falls as it does now, but north of there it followed Muskoka Rd. 37 and Cedar Lane to Macaulay Public School, then back to its present alignment.”
