Arnold Stephen, first opened Stephen’s Meat and Grocery Store near the bridge in Port Carling in 1927. This closed in 1971 with the construction of the new two lane bridge through the centre of town. The family moved the meat cutting equipment back to his small home garage and set up shop and Stephen’s Butcher Shop has been in full swing ever since.
