Winter 2025-2026 predictions

Check your snow shovels, roof rakes, and snowblowers, and top up your winter sand. Old Man Winter is predicted to make an early and sudden appearance.

The upcoming 2025-2026 winter season may not be as brutal as last winter, which led to record-setting cold temperatures, according to the Farmers’ Almanac. Still, there’ll be plenty of snow and wintry weather.

The Farmers’ Almanac is predicting that central and eastern Ontario will be hit with frequent snowstorms and icy, lake-effect squalls. So get your gear ready for a bumpy ride, as this winter is expected to bring ups and downs, with plenty of snow events and thaws, and temperatures at or slightly below seasonal norms.
