New loading zone installed in downtown Bracebridge

Downtown Bracebridge finally has a long-awaited loading zone.

In Janaury Bracebridge council heard plans for a commercial loading zone in downtown Bracebridge.

Creating the spot is something the BIA have been pushing for a number of years. Since Manitoba Street is a District roadway, the change needed approval from District council. Delivery trucks required for business operations were parking at the bottom of Chancery Lane in a live lane of traffic to meet both the commercial delivery and pick up needs for businesses located in the downtown core of Bracebridge.

The space required the removal of two parking spots but District staff indicated it should have little impact on the overall parking situation downtown.
