Dear Friends:

First, I want to thank you for being an engaged member of our Doppler community. You tune into our news stories, you visit our website, and you see us on social media.

You already know who we are and what we stand for. We are focussed on true journalism over sensational stories. We write bold perspectives in opinion pieces and invite comments and commentary from our readers on all sides of an issue.

We are truly local, independently owned, and have engaged and talented people on our Doppler team.  We have become the go-to source for News in Muskoka and East Parry Sound. In June, we attracted more than 80,000 unique readers.

We continue to seek improvements to Doppler, and you will see some of these in the coming weeks. We want you to wake up every day with a reason to tap into Doppler for new stories, information of importance, and even a morning smile to start your day!

To continue to accomplish this, we need your help. Doppler is funded by our local advertisers and voluntary contributions. The COVID-19 pandemic has provided financial challenges to many small businesses and Doppler is no exception.

We ask you to consider a voluntary contribution to Doppler. Some of you contribute on a monthly basis, others, annually or semi-annually. We are very grateful for this and thank you sincerely.

For those of our readers who have not yet considered a voluntary contribution to Doppler, we respectfully ask you to do so now, at a time additional financial resources are needed to maintain our grassroots independence and to provide a high quality of local news and information for Muskoka and East Parry Sound, as well as for those who live away from here but have a keen interest in our community.

All contributions are solely for the operating expenses of Doppler and are welcome and appreciated, no matter the size.  It’s easy to do. Just click here. If you prefer to send a cheque, it can be mailed to Doppler at 1 Crescent Road, Box 2, Huntsville ON P1H 1Z6. A third option is an E-transfer to: huntsville@doppleronline.ca

Many thanks for your consideration and please enjoy your summer!

Sincerely.

Hugh Mackenzie
