Oddly enough when the feeling of Plein Air grabs you, you must follow through. I was in the middle of the garden, in the middle of summer when it hit me. Not once but twice did Romeo and Juliet fall to the ground. Thank goodness for acrylic paint and a dry summer. My hollyhocks were stunning, blooming in three different colours. There was goldenrod blowing in the wind in the background. The finished product gave a sense of freedom. Strong colours, accenting beautiful flowers.
About the Artist :
Wendy Moses was the owner, operator and artist at the Alexandra Luke Gallery, before moving and relocating in Thunder Bay. There the Sleeping Giant prevails and the west winds blow bitter and cold in winter, then turns into a blessing in summer. Returning to her style of painting, she embarked on a journey of commissions, then moving to a fascination with Plein Air painting. Wendy still loves to be on the water..rowing when available, sailing on Superior or swimming in summer and cross country skiing in winter. Beautiful art by Wendy. So happy she is now my neighbor/friend. She is so talented in so many ways. Her expressions about her painting is proof. I am learning so much from her. A gifted, beautiful lady in every sense.
