From the Muskoka Bears Junior C Hockey Club:
The Muskoka Bears faced a tough start to their season, falling 11-0 in their inaugural home opener against the league’s undisputed top dogs, the Allison Hornets.
No question, the Hornets are the best in the league, and they played like it. But if they think this loss defines us, they’ve got another thing coming.
Every great team has to get punched in the mouth before they rise, and tonight we took that hit. Legendary Bears coach Danny Poland dropped the ceremonial puck, a reminder of this team’s proud past—and it’s now up to us to build its future.
The fire’s been lit, and tonight’s defeat is just fuel. This isn’t over. We’ll be back, stronger and hungrier. The Bears will roar again.
