Bears fall behind 2–0 in series against Orillia

The Muskoka Bears Jr. C are looking to bounce back on home ice this week after dropping the first two games of their opening-round Schmaltz Cup playoff series to the Orillia Terriers by identical 6–2 scores over the weekend.

Game 1 saw the Bears travel to Orillia on Saturday, where the contest was tightly played through the early stages before penalty trouble proved costly. The Terriers capitalized on their opportunities and pulled away for the four-goal victory.
Jack Seney and Liam Cardiff provided the offence for Muskoka in the loss.

The series shifted to Bracebridge on Sunday at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre, where the hometown Bears again kept things close through two periods. Orillia, however, broke the game open in the third period to secure a second straight 6–2 win and take a 2–0 lead in the best-of-seven matchup.
Wil Muszynski scored both Bears goals in Game 2.

Despite the early deficit, Muskoka will have a chance to respond quickly as the series resumes Wednesday night back in Bracebridge. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre, with the Bears aiming to cut the Terriers’ series lead in half and regain momentum in front of their home crowd.

Fans are expected to pack the stands as the Bears look to extend their playoff run and avoid falling into a daunting 3–0 hole in the provincial junior C championship chase.
