During the most recent meeting of the Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB), Alex Goltz, a Grade 12 student from Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School, officially stepped into the role of student trustee. The ceremony was presided over by Colleen Wilcox, the chair of the Board, and Wes Hahn, the director of education, both of whom warmly welcomed Goltz to the position.
As part of taking on the role, Goltz signed a declaration to commit to fulfilling the responsibilities of a trustee for a term of one year. This appointment is not just a title; it carries the weight of representing the student body and ensuring their voices are heard within the educational landscape. In collaboration with fellow student trustee Taliah McNelly and the TLDSB G7 Student Senate, Goltz will engage in advocacy efforts aimed at enhancing the student experience across the district.
