In a commemorative gesture for its sesquicentennial, the Town of Bracebridge is launching a tree planting initiative known as the Bracebridge 150 Forest. This summer, a total of 150 trees will be planted on town parkland located between Little Ryans Way and Gostick Park.
The 150 Forest will encompass a diverse selection of trees, varying in size and species, in accordance with the Town’s Urban Tree Management Plan. The trees, ranging from six to eight feet in height, will be strategically spaced 40 to 60 feet apart to allow for their natural growth. The initiative will include trees at varying stages of maturity at the time of planting. Additionally, commemorative signage will be erected to acknowledge this legacy project and its supporters.
The Town is encouraging residents, businesses, and community organizations to participate in the Bracebridge 150 legacy project by sponsoring a tree. There are 150 sponsorship opportunities available, and the names of the sponsors will be featured on the gateway signage to the forest.
