Bracebridge driver pleads guilty in serious impaired crash 

A Bracebridge man recently appeared in court to plead guilty concerning an impaired driving accident that led to serious injuries.

Steven Brazier, 30, pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing bodily harm from a crash in Muskoka Lakes Township on Aug. 20, 2021.

According to a police report, on that day the Bracebridge OPP, Muskoka EMS and Muskoka Lakes Fire Department responded to 9-1-1 calls about a single-vehicle crash from people in the area of Milford Bay Road just west of Butter and Egg Road at 11:40 p.m.

One occupant of the vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated by Muskoka Lakes Fire Department, he was transported to a Toronto hospital and treated for life-altering injuries. The driver, Brazier, fled the scene and was located at a nearby residence by officers.

Brazier will return to Bracerbidge court on Feb 22, 2023, for sentencing.
