A Muskoka man pled guilty to assaulting a peace officer in a Bracebridge courtroom recently.
Derek Eliott, 32, pled guilty to the charges stemming from an incident that occurred on Oct. 7, 2023.
Court heard that on that day at 12:50 am police were called regarding a fight in the street in Bracebridge.
The OPP responded and found Elliott under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Bracebridge OPP detachment. There he blew his nose on an officer, covering part of his sweater with mucus and blood. The sweater had to be destroyed.
Court heard Ellliott has a criminal record and he was given a suspended sentence and 12 month probation.
