A Bracebridge driver who crashed into multiple snowbanks on Taylor Road was found to have twice the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
Appearing earlier this month in a Bracebridge courtroom, Kenneth Jobin, 52, pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.
Court heard that on February 17, 2024, at 6:50 pm Jobin was driving on Taylor Road when he hit a snowbank, causing his car to become airborne and land in the intersection at Depot Drive. He then went over a second snowbank before becoming stuck, court heard.
Witnesses on the scene assisted the man out of his vehicle before police arrived. The police smelled alcohol on Jobin’s breath and a breathalyzer test came back with readings of 200 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Jovin was sentenced to a $2,500 fine, one year of probation and a one-year driving ban.
