Business owner alerts police to impaired driver

A Huntsville man was in court recently to plead guilty to driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

Michael Simpson, 54, admitted guilty in the incident which occurred on Aug. 29, 2022.

Court heard that on that day police received a call regarding a possible impaired driver in Utterson.

The caller said Simpson had attended their business but nearly missed the driveway while pulling in. Simpson then fell twice while attempting to get from his car to the business. The owner had to explain three times that the business was actually closed before Simpson would leave.

He was found a short time later by police and a breathalyzer revealed he had 150 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.

It was agreed that he would be sentenced at a later date.
