Cocaine and cannabis lead to impaired driving conviction 

A Huntsville driver who blew through a red light found herself in a Braceridge courtroom recently. 

Sara Dexter, 27, pled guilty to driving while impaired by drugs and failing to attend court.

Court heard that on March 23, 2025, at 9:43 pm, Huntsville OPP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on King William Street.

The driver then ran a red light at an intersection and was pulled over.

Police observe a handheld torch in the center console and the driver, Dexter, admitted to consuming cocaine and cannabis.

The court heard Dexter also failed to attend court on numerous occasions.

She was sentenced to a one year driving ban, a $1,000 fine and 12 months probation.
