On Tuesday April 12, 2022 just after 1:30 p.m. a member of the public called Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a concern about a possibly impaired driver in the area of the LCBO in Gravenhurst. The caller was very diligent in obtaining information such as the make and model of the vehicle and license plate in order to assist police in locating it.

An officer was nearby and within minutes located the vehicle on Muskoka Road South turning onto James Street and into a school zone. A traffic stop was conducted on John Street South and subsequently police arrested and charged 66 year-old Ronald HALL of Gravenhurst with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a), and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, ON on May 10, 2022 to answer to his charges. Furthermore, his driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded.

Members of the public are key partners in the ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving and police would like to thank those who take the time to call in with their concerns.
