An altercation at a Gravenhurst convenience store landed one man in a Bracebridge courtroom last week.
On Tuesday Austin Dobie, 23, of Gravenhurst, pled guilty to assault stemming from a Dec. 2, 1999 incident.
The court heard that on that day a verbal altercation occurred at a convenience store in Gravenhurst between Dobie and the occupants of another car.
The other parties left in their car and Dobie followed, court heard. The other car then attempted to lose Dobie but he followed them home and accosted them on the front lawn.
Court heard that some type of physical altercation took place, thereafter, but the Crown said the incident involved multiple people with different versions of what happened and the truth of the matter was unclear. However, it was admitted that Dobie approached the victim’s vehicle in a threatening manner.
Dobie said his version of the incident was different than the one they heard in court.
He has ultimately sentenced to a conditional discharge and 12 months probation with terms to attend counselling.
