It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of David (Dave) Alan Piercey. He passed away peacefully in his home on November 24, 2023 at the age of 68.
Dave was born in Toronto on April 8th, 1955 by the late Thomas and Marie (Young) Piercey. Survived by his wife Penny Piercey, and his son Charles Piercey (Geena). He leaves behind his step-daughter Robin Piercey, his two grandsons Jeremy and Christopher including his siblings Lee-Ann (Glen) and Mark (Linda).
Dave was adventurous and kind, he loved or cared for almost every animal and person he met. Stubbornly, he never met a challenge he couldn’t face or conquer. As a child Dave loved to spend his time in Twillingate, Newfoundland with family and friends. In his early twenties he moved to Alberta where he learned to be a bronco rider. In turn, he found a love of motorbikes; he was an avid biker for “Ride for Sight” in Alberta, donating as much as he could during every ride. Dave met Penny with her daughter Robin in 1985 where they started a family together in Huntsville, Ontario. His generosity didn’t stop there, he became a donating member of the Huntsville Legion. He enjoyed long days golfing and weekly coffee nights with his friends. Dave was a dedicated transport truck driver for over 25 years.
Charles and Dave were two peas in a pod. They spent many winters skiing together, plenty of fishing in the spring and travelling just about every summer while trucking through different states and provinces until he retired in 2019. After retirement, you could have found him happily tinkering away in the garage until sunset.
He had a beautiful eye for photography; If anyone has any photos of Dave, please print them off to give to the family to cherish as he was usually the one behind the camera. The celebration of life is being held at the Huntsville legion (21 Veterans Way, Huntsville, P1H 1B9) on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 11am to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntsville Legion are greatly appreciated.
