The District of Muskoka has agreed to rename Muskoka Road 38, the road where the administration building for the Wahta Mohawks is located.
At its October 17 meeting, councillor voted unanimously in favour of the name change. Staff were directed to organize a committee comprised of members from the Wahta Mohawk First Nation as well as representation from the District and the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
Tina Kilbourne who heads the District of Muskoka’s Continuous Improvement initiative, a new name will likely be unveiled in the spring of 2023.
