A motorist found himself in trouble after falling asleep at the wheel, a Bracebridge court heard recently.
Appearing Nov. 29 in court, Brendan Hancock, 26, pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.
Court heard that on June 17, 2023, at 5:53 am police received a call from a concerned motorist regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 60. The caller then contacted police a second time to say the possible impaired driver had left the roadway and crashed into a creek.
Court heard the driver, Hancock, had fallen asleep at the wheel, left the highway and ended up partially submerged in the creek.
Court heard Hancock had attended a stag party in Huntsville the previous night and was attempting to get home.
He ultimately blew readings of 118 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
He was sentenced to a $1,250 fine and one-year driving ban.
